Jamaica Holidays

Ever since Errol Flynn cavorted here with his Hollywood pals in the 1930s and '40s, travellers have regarded Jamaica as one of the most alluring of the Caribbean islands. Its beaches, mountains and carnal red sunsets regularly appear in the sort of tourist brochures that promise paradise.

Unlike other nearby islands, it caters to everyone from beach bums to newlyweds: you can choose a private villa with your own secluded beach; laugh your holiday away at a party-hearty resort; the island has stunning beaches and a vibrant culture mixed with a laid back atmosphere. The ideal pick-me-up, this ‘island in the sun’ brings together fine white sand beaches and cascading waterfalls and is alive with local flavour; the perfect mix of rum, reggae and genuine smiles.

Beaches
Negril has seven miles of soft white sand, the longest beach in Jamaica. Ocho Rios, Turtle Beach and Island Village Beach are also up there with the best of them, whilst Falmouth’s Fishermen’s Beach offers a quieter coastline.

Sports
If you’re a sports lover, there’s plenty to choose from, with coral reefs and shipwrecks perfect for scuba diving and great surfing on the east coast. There are superb areas for hiking and bird watching and the ultimate adventure, bamboo rafting. Horse riding, caving, cycling and golf are also popular.

Local tastes
You’ll find spicy jerk chicken and pork everywhere, and seasoned with a mix of chillies, ginger, pepper and soy sauce. Try the ever-present rice n’ peas, actually made with rice, coconut milk and beans, not peas! Fresh seafood is popular and curried goat is a local delicacy. Red Stripe beer and Blue Mountain coffee are regular tipples.

Evening flavour
Alive with reggae and ragga, Jamaica has a fantastic night vibe. Head for James Street in Ocho Rios, for bars and discos galore, or Island Village, home of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, where 100-ft long waterslide plunges over the bar into a freshwater pool. In Negril, open air reggae concerts are staged nightly in peak season and there are dozens of bars and discos, mainly along the West End.

With fantastic deals to all of the hotels on the island we are positive we can find the right holiday experience at the right price for you. We use all of the major charter airlines as well as Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.
